Mission and Vision
Chabod Academy of the Arts is a creative arts training academy dedicated to helping people of all ages develop their God-given talent while igniting a passion within them to boldly share the gospel of Jesus Christ through creative expression. We are committed to strengthening the role of the arts as a means of enhancing one’s quality of life and we are dedicated to taking this concept into various nations throughout the world.
Standard of Excellence
The Academy currently offers a variety of classes in dance, drama, music, aerobics and sign language. These courses are designed to provide students with an opportunity to explore the arts while challenging them to achieve a standard of excellence. As students strive to attain excellence in their artistic expressions they also learn skills such as patience, perseverance, self-discipline and teamwork. In turn they benefit from increased self-esteem and self-confidence and they have lots of fun in the process!
Special Events
In addition to classes we also provide other venues where we teach people how to incorporate the arts into their daily lives. One such venue is our equipping conferences. These conferences are primarily focused on helping churches learn how to integrate the arts into their weekly services.
We also hold Christian summer camps for our younger students. These annual events are fun-filled times where the youth learn more about the arts and they enjoy powerful times of worship, bible studies, planned activities and more. These camps positively impact the lives of all who attend.
A Safe Haven for Learning
We are pleased to be able to provide our students with a safe haven for their learning experiences. Our Academy is free from sensual and provocative influences and our choreography and costumes are modest in nature. We carefully screen all music for offensive language, ideas and undertones and we ensure that all of our themes carry a positive life-affirming message. We believe that you will find Chabod Academy of the Arts to be morally suitable environment for all members of your family!
Touching the Community
For art to be enjoyed to the fullest, it must be shared with others. Therefore, we seek to provide students with the opportunity to share their artistic talent through a variety of venues within their local community. Such performances take place at schools, churches, parks, parades and fund-raising events etc. These performances are not only fun for our students but they also help to raise the awareness of the importance of art in our society. Some students will also have the opportunity to go on tour to other cities or nations. As they tour these students will share the gospel of Jesus Christ through artistic expression.
Impacting the Nations
Art is a powerful tool and when used appropriately it has the potential to positively impact the world. Therefore, we are dedicated to sending teams into various nations to raise-up leaders who will carry out the vision and mission of Chabod Academy of the Arts within their communities.
Partnering With Our Communities
We believe that there is strength and power in partnering with others who also have a vision to see communities changed through the use of creative arts. As a non-profit organization we seek to connect with individuals, organizations, foundations and corporations who desire to make a difference in the world through this powerful medium.
Currently there are opportunities for giving through annual pledges, individual sponsorship of scholarships, one-time giving, special project grants, funding for traveling teams and sponsorship of third-world Academies. Organizational Strength
Chabod Academy of the Arts was formerly known as Capitol Academy of the Arts. We have removed the Academy from our national affiliation which required a name change.
We are excited about our new name. Chabod (pronounced kah-vohd ) is a Hebrew word, that mens Gods glory, His honor, majesty, His visible splendor! Our goal is to bring the Arts back to the Creator, our God; to make His creativity visible, in all that we do at the Academy, and to share His glory and splendor all over the world through the arts!
